Amazon Fire TV is the most common box TiviGlass runs on. The install takes about ten minutes: enable apps from unknown sources, fetch the APK with Downloader, open it once, then add the IPTV service you already pay for. TiviGlass does not supply channels — it is a player for your own Xtream, Stalker or M3U subscription.
What you need before you start
- A Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube or Fire TV television (Fire OS 7 or newer is fine).
- The login details your IPTV provider gave you — server address, username and password, or an M3U link.
- A phone on the same Wi‑Fi network (optional, but much faster for signing in and pasting long URLs).
Step 1 — Install Downloader
Open the Find screen on your Fire TV and search for Downloader by AFTVnews. Install it from the Amazon Appstore. Downloader is a simple browser that can fetch a file from a web address and open the Android installer — you use it once per TiviGlass update, not every day.
Step 2 — Allow apps from unknown sources
Fire OS blocks APKs that did not come from Amazon until you say otherwise. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options and turn on Apps from Unknown Sources for Downloader. On newer Fire OS builds the toggle may live under Install unknown apps with Downloader listed as the app that may install files. Without this step the APK opens to a permissions error and nothing installs.
Step 3 — Download TiviGlass
Launch Downloader. In the URL bar type tiviglass.com/apk and press Go. The site redirects to the current signed release. When the download finishes, choose Install. If Fire OS warns that the app is unknown, confirm — the APK is signed with TiviGlass's release key and updates in place over older installs.
After installation, open TiviGlass from Your Apps & Channels. Pin it to the home row if you use the app daily: highlight the icon, press the menu button on the remote and choose Move to front.
Step 4 — Add your TV service
On first launch TiviGlass offers Sign in (for cloud sync and Premium) or Continue as guest. Either works for watching — pick guest if you only want to try the player first.
Next, add your provider: Settings → TV sources → Add TV source. Choose the connection type your service uses (Xtream Codes API, Stalker portal or M3U playlist). The recommended path is Type it on my phone: scan the QR code, enter credentials on your phone keyboard, and the TV fills the form automatically.
Press Run test before saving. A green result means the server answered and your login worked. Only then choose which channel groups to import and confirm. Import can take several minutes on large catalogues; you can press Start watching as soon as live channels appear while the guide keeps loading in the background.
Step 5 — Check the guide and overscan
Open Live TV once import finishes. If programme times look wrong, your provider may need an EPG URL in the playlist settings, or a time offset under Settings → EPG. If the picture is cropped at the edges, open Settings → Interface → Overscan and nudge the safe area until the whole guide is visible.
Common Fire TV issues
- Downloader says “file cannot be downloaded” — check the date on the Fire TV clock; HTTPS fails when the device time is years wrong.
- Install blocked — unknown-sources permission was granted to a different app, not Downloader.
- Playback stutters on an older Stick — in Settings try a lighter buffer profile and turn off 4K groups you do not watch.
